paint is slippery too. Except the non-slip stuff, which isn't particularly cheap. Just sayin'. I ride in traffic or on the fringe of it and don't have problems. People who go a lot slower do have problems. The question of bike lane construction and enforcement is a bit like the question of critical mass. The in-your-face approach when you're a really small minority of the general public only gets you so far and sometimes creates a lot of enemies... though the wankers who double park in the bike lane maybe are okay enemies to have. I dunno.
