Why hate on e-assist? For many Big Dummy riders, it's apparently the way to go. After hauling my rig up the Capitol Hill several times this week, I can empathize. I'm not going to make any conversion while my legs and lungs are still strong, but why the hate?
When I rode City Bike Jordan's Stoke Monkey-equipped Big Dummy, I found the e-assist helped me to accelerate the rig into traffic much easier. It also helped up the hills of Adams Morgan.
I can appreciate that it's not for you. It's probably not warranted on a smaller bike with a healthy rider. However, you don't know this rider's situation and/or background that led to this choice.
